GTC Tips for Flu Season
According to the CDC, the flu virus can “live” on some surfaces for up to 48 hours. Routine, proper and thorough cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces may help reduce the spread of flu.
Below are steps you can take to combat the spread of flu in your facility.

Always follow cleaning procedures, be thorough.

Use EPA registered disinfectants that have been approved for effectiveness against influenza A Virus.

Be sure to follow label instructions to allow for the appropriate dwell time.

Concentrate on high touch areas, making sure you the clean the area before disinfecting.

Light Switches

Desktops

Elevator Buttons

Telephone Receivers

Keyboards

Stay home if you are sick to reduce the spread of germs in your facility.

Cover your cough or sneeze.

Wash hands often with soap and water often for at least 20 seconds. Do not just use hand sanitizer, it may lose efficacy if hands are visibly dirty.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
